Brief History of the Knox Junior Football Club

KJFC was originally formed in the 1970’s by a group of keen parents with an interest in football. It was started with the Knox Cricket Club, to utilise the new oval and clubroom facilities associated with the newly completed Knox Gardens Primary School. In those early days the club was part of the Knox Junior Football Association.

In later years the club moved into the EFL. Significant events for the KJFC have been the installation of the second oval in the mid 1990’s and more recently the upgraded clubroom facilities, which have allowed us to expand and improve yet again.

One of the main purposes of the club is to provide a strong player base for the senior club. It has been doing this well now for a long time. The club, through its history, has been successful and very well managed which has led to a constant growth in numbers and teams. In 2007 the club will again be supporting and developing the junior
footballers and the general community of Knox and the future is looking good.

2008 saw another significant milestone in our club’s history with an additional Under 9 team from Lysterfield – extending our reach and player base.
